Brooklyn — Toya's Bed-Stuy walk-up, the bodega that knows her order, the train ride back at 2 a.m. — sits fifteen minutes and a whole class bracket away from the showroom's marble lobby. Maison Arden exists just off the page as a French heritage house whose approval means real money, real visas for a small label, and a real end to Marisa's rent problem.
