What is MateAura?
MateAura is an AI character platform. You chat with fictional characters — each with a personality, a backstory and a gallery of AI-generated artwork — who remember you, write first and can send photos in the conversation. It works in the browser and in the iOS and Android apps.
Is MateAura free?
It is free to start. A new account gets 100,000 free tokens — about 40 messages. Browsing characters and their galleries is always free. Subscriptions add a monthly token allowance, and Pro Auras are fully unlocked on the Pro and Premium plans.
How many messages do I get?
A typical message and its reply use about 2,500 tokens, so one million tokens is roughly 400 messages. Messages a character sends you first never use your tokens.
Do the characters remember me?
Yes. Your conversation is saved, and important details you share are noted so the character can bring them up later. Each character keeps their own history with you.
Can characters send photos?
Yes — from their own gallery, when the conversation calls for it or when you ask. Every image is reviewed by a person before it is published.
Is romance allowed?
Yes. Characters can be warm, flirty and romantic in words. Sexual content is not allowed on any device, and MateAura is for people aged 16 and over.
Are the characters real people?
No. Every character is AI-generated fiction, not based on a real person. They stay in character, but if you ask whether they are human, they tell you they are an AI.
How is MateAura different from Character.AI or Replika?
Every character here is made by our team rather than uploaded by users, and each has a gallery of artwork they can share in the chat. Characters remember you across conversations, write first, and can be romantic — within a 16+ rating and always honest about being AI.
Are my conversations private?
Yes. Your chats are visible to your account only and we do not sell personal data. You can delete your account and its data yourself at any time.
Is there an app?
Yes, for iPhone and Android. The website does everything the apps do, and the same account works on all three.
